Catherine Doherty is a creative and award-winning prop stylist whose foundation in Interior Design and Visual Merchandising allows her to create unique vignettes, custom backdrops, environments and one of kind tabletop settings. Her experience in display and design brought her naturally to the editorial world where her winning work is featured in a variety of well-known Canadian publications. 

Catherine finds inspiration both in the world around her and beyond. She stays on top of trends by attending Gift and Interior shows in Toronto and travels to New York City twice a year to participate in the Tableware Market Shows. As Home and Registry  Contributing Editor at Weddingbells Magazine she is continually on the lookout for what is new and exciting in tableware design. Closer to home, Catherine has a passion for reviving lost ‘treasures’ near her cabin in Algonquin and for years produced the column ‘Revival’ for Cottage Life Magazine

After years of working in the Tabletop Industry and scouring Antique Shops and Markets across North America, Catherine has built an extensive collection of her own props. She’s also skilled in the woodshop and craft studio, for those occasions where the shoot calls for something truly unique. 

Her vast experience was recognized by her position as Professor in the Visual Merchandising Arts Program at Sheridan College where she taught courses in prop production colour and design. Her organization and public speaking skills developed in the classroom and college environment ensure her ability to work within a large organization and follow protocol and procedures. 

Catherine works across many mediums sourcing and styling for print, motion and social media.
